The lighting art has developed into an independent art genre, whether in the exhibitions of the world‘s top art galleries and galleries, or in the public landscape of the city. This kind of art form with artificial light source as the main medium has brought a pleasant visual feast and artistic experience to the audience.
Bulb revelry
Korean artist Han Lee uses more than 200 bulbs to make light bulb equipment. More than 200 bulbs hang vertically, producing intricate light sources. When the lights change and flicker, they are like falling raindrops and stars in the sky. When people walk in front, they will generate digital induction light waves, which will create a circle of "ripples" on the background wall.
HanLee cooperated with Mo Wenwei and Park Shu. On the "2018 Tidal Sound Release Night", according to the stage installation and live song singing, he made some adjustments to his work again, which perfectly matched the song performance of the two people.
Little people dance in the light
New media artist Akinori Goto described a series of animated dance characters. The sculpture frame was printed in 3D from the dance silhouette data, creating a modern rotation effect.
When the 3D model is placed on the disc with uniform rotation speed and the vertical light is laid from the top, a leisurely person will appear. With the change of light, dynamic light and shadow also change, and unexpected visual effects appear.
Animal world at night
Technically, light painting is not a complicated shooting method, but it is not so easy to shoot well. Photographers need not only certain "skills", but also good ideas.
Los Angeles photographer Darren Pearson uses long-term exposure photography at night to create lighting sculptures at specific sites, from rainbow dinosaurs crossing the lake to popular skeletons, which not only has high artistry, but also sets off the colorful romance and agility of the night.
A shining bicycle
Mike Gamble, the filmmaker, and Tom Wood, the creator of VFX, have a crazy idea. They use LED to install some mountain bikes and try to create a light rail similar to Tron‘s light motorcycle. Whether it is the rolling round light wheel, the post-production special effect overlay frame, or the spiral light and shadow design, it is amazing.
VoiceofNature β º1
In November 2018, the video interactive digital art work "Voice of Nature" created by the Dutch artist Thijs Biersteker at the "Light of Sichuan - International Public Digital Art Exhibition" in Chengdu, China β º The first exhibition.
The work "Voice of Nature" β º 1 started from the cooperation between Delft University of Technology and the Plantina Research Group, aiming to find more ways to obtain data and present the natural "voice" in an artistic way.
In order to pay tribute to Chinese Shu embroidery, artist Thijs Biersteker combines nature and art on traditional embroidery boards through a new way of creation.
In the whole work, the huge visual screen appears behind the real trees in a thought-provoking way. Through data collection and light and shadow changes, the huge electronic display screen conveys the feeling of the trees translated by the sensor to the audience.
